Of course, the next day there were all kinds of media reports about a “botched execution” and how Williams was “tortured” in the execution chamber. I am here to tell you that I was present and I watched Williams closely, as he was much larger than life on the big screen, so I had a better view than those actually in the death chamber and at no point did his fists clench or his face grimace in pain. He was unconscious the whole time but even if he did feel excruciating pain I have no mercy because he died a far easier death than my Uncle did!
I must confess I had to control my emotions after the execution. I looked around the room and the mood was very sober with more than a few people crying. One got the impression that the execution did not go as smooth as they thought it would, that it was somewhat messy. People are accustomed to seeing death on TV where a person is shot and rolls over immediately. True death is not always so immediate or sanitized. My emotion, however, was one of elation. I was ecstatic! I wanted to laugh out loud and scream for joy! It took a serious effort on my part to maintain a sober facade and keep me from laughing out loud!
In closing. I would like to deal with some objections that the lunatic left always brings us in regard to capital punishment;
1. Capital punishments is not a deterrent to crime!
Maybe it would be if the sentences were more immediate and the courts would stay out of it after a certain specified time. Regardless, one thing capital punishment does with 100% efficiency is cut down on repeat offenders. If Williams had been executed after killing Dominique Hurd he would not have been around to kill Cecil Boren ( my uncle) or Michael Greenwood.
2. Do I think the murder of my uncle by Kenneth Williams was a hate crime?
In all honesty, no. Had my uncle been black, Hispanic, or Asian he still would have been killed the moment Williams stepped into the yard. And if Williams had been White I still would have watched his execution and applauded his death.
To me nations, at least in their original sense, are biological organisms and any organism that does not expel its waste products dies.
* This one if for you Uncle Peewee. Rest in peace! You have been avenged!
